whisked away...

one day not long ago, the bohemian found herself whisked away by her prince charming,  into the outer edges of bohemia, to a sweet little village very different from her own...

they followed a gravelly path winding down to pass between two sweetly-scented flowering bushes...

whose blushing pink flowers were in the shape of angel's trumpets...

all their belongings for their short stay they trundled along in the little pushcart...

right up to the doorway of this sweet little yurt...

now, an evil curse had been laid over the land. and the rain lashed the tiny yurt and the thunder pounded down upon the canvas roof but they were cozy, warm and dry inside the sweet little round dwelling!
they spent their days roaming the valleys, eating fresh-picked cherries from the farmer's fruit stand, tasting the BBQed street vendor's food at a tiny street faire, eating exquisite molasses cookies fresh-baked by two magic fairies, and finding just the right "something" at a  parking lot sale to benefit children battling cancer.
(WARNING: WHAT COMES NEXT IS NOT FOR THE SNAKE-SQUEAMISH!!)
what they did next was captivating and a tiny bit scary...
they entered the door of the REPTILE ZOO!
there in the steamy hot air were creatures only safely seen behind glass...
and that was part of the creepiness.
to know they would kill you if they could...

a handsome prince someone played an evil trick on...(this toad was extremely creepy, more so than many of the snakes...he was huge - bigger than my hand - and slimy-wet-looking)

puff adders have always horrifyingly fascinated the bohemian
okay. enough with the snake pictures.
there were also dragons of all sizes, and the most amazing bugs!  walking sticks and preying mantises and giant hissing cockroaches (which weren't hissing - the bohemian tried! she did! but they were not a bit scared by her!), large fuzzy tarantulas and ancient, wise tortoises.
as they headed back to their cozy, round hut the raging rain began again. and what was there to do but curl up in their warm, dry blankets for a nap, lulled to sleep by the drumming of the rain above their heads.
well. that seems to be all the pictures blogger will upload today....
sorry to leave you with those last images!!
may you be blessed, not cursed, with fair weather and cozy refuge...
liquid sunshine wishes  to you all!
