dr. seuss wisdom...

theodore guisel: "I like nonsense---it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It's a way of looking at life through the wrong of a telescope---and that enables you to laugh at all of life's realities." oh, i feel another gratitude fling coming on!! i'm grateful for: *nonsense ( funny bones, a sense of humor, the ability to laugh, shared laughter, etc.) *a Thanksgiving celebration filled with all my children and their spouses, around a table laden with abundant blessings *my bohemian mountain, which is there whether i can see it or not, thrusting up from the earth's surface with majesty and grandeur *the xm radio station Holly *leftover turkey for sandwiches *my families *faith and hope and peace and contentment *blog friendships *the colors of my world: blue jays, black cats, orange leaves, glowing rainbows, my burnt orange guest room, christmas lights, painted journal pages, glowing honey-colored wood tones of my walls and floors, lime green fuzzy warm blankets... *memories of loved ones gone on to heaven where they're partying for real *pumpkin pie *cold relief medicine *My Honey --- he's so awesome!! okay. ya gotta stop somewhere. my life is so full of wonderment and abundance i could sit and type for days and days. and bore everyone to death. but sometimes it's just good to list things and realize how extravagantly blessed one is!! thanksgiving blessing and warm wishes to everyone as the christmastime season begins...

she just had to yell out loud: WOW!!!

our sick-of-being-sick bohemian arose this morning with the sniffles which radpidly escalated into the whole free-flowing faucet thing. but then she caught a glimpse out her kitchen window, while hovering over the coffee pot... oooooooo! color and light!!! she ran quickly out the front door, camera in hand, bare feet on ice cold brick... (what's that you say, My Honey? i'm not in my right mind? at least i'm not in my PJs!!) fire in the sky! suddenly her mood had nothing to do with how she felt, only what she was amazed to see. she smiled (albeit a tad drippily) to herself as she picked up her paint brush in her craft room and glanced out the window there... Yep! it's gonna be a grand day in bohemia!!! (see the lovely snowfall on her bohemian mountain?!? that makes her smile, too.)

taking a few sick days...

my bohemia is a rather distant memory at the moment. the weather here is typical northwest november: rain, hail, wind, sunbreak, hail, rain, pounding wind storm, buckets of rain, thunderbolts and lightning (very, very frightening), raining cats and dogs, snow creeping down the foothills toward my front yard... add to that my 4th(! yes, that's right...4th!!!) bout with the evil nasty flu bug. my imagination and creative juices are rather dampened by this unwelcome turn of events... but! THIS TOO SHALL PASS! and i will back soon. love and thanksgiving wishes to all... make that gratitude list and check it twice. i know. i'll make mine too. you all will be right up there on my list...

whoo hoo!!! it's a new day!

i MUST share the sunset on my bohemian mountains the other night... isn't it gorgeous? the sun actually sets in the opposite direction but casts a rosy glow on the mountains... sometime, at sunset, they look like rosy, transparent glass... ooooooh! pretty! yes, my batch of tags have their fibers and are OFFICIALLY finished! i LOVE what the fiber does for the overall effect. yesssssss..... and one more book for the silent auction: a motorcycle book... we have lots of motorcycles riders in our family. they're gonna love this! my boys love to ride up in the hills, over trails and through mud and places i would close my eyes to see them going. the stories are always exciting but my "MOM" voice in my head is usually having a heart attack over what they do... but i would sooo rather they have lives lived to the utmost fullest than safe and boring, unlived lives... so what's a mom to do? JUST DON'T LOOK!!!!! hope your life is full of adventure and risks and lived like there's no tomorrow. happy-to-be-alive wishes to you all....

singing in the rain...

weather forecast in bohemia: manic/depressive!! yesterday was all golden light. today is grey and drizzly. the snow level has crept down around the bohemian foothills. and the bohemian is oh so very happy to have her cozy woodstove warming her cottage! she has been busy making tags... more things for the silent auction she has been working on. her craft retreat is creeping ever closer and she needs to keep creating! she is so excited for the craft retreat! every year she runs away to an island with about 60 crafty women to spend the whole entire weekend creating. creating laughter and projects and all manner of silliness. these are her special craft retreat jammies... so our bohemian is packing her craft bags, trying to figure out what she'll need with out taking everything and the kitchen sink... put some in, take some out... just like packing her suitcase for a trip!! wishing and hoping there is lots of time for creating in your world today and tomorrow and the next day and the day after that... TIME TO GO PLAY!!

it's another gratitude list kind of day...

my beloved bohemian mountain with its new-fallen snow. winter is certainly encroaching... today is windy and rainy. the raindrops are beading up and rolling down my windows. the gusts of wind are blowing the last of the leaves from the trees surrounding my cottage. but i have my memories. and my pictures. to help me remember what a wonderful fall we have had. and the sunrises have been Unexpectedly Lovely (see brandi reynold's blog...she a Joy Rebel! click on the joy rebel button on the top right-hand corner of my blog page) *here i must apologize... the Unexpectedly Lovely is from Molly the Pirate's blog: A Bit O' Shine. sorry, molly! both blogs are worth visiting, if you haven't discovered them for yourself! no matter how tired i am when i roll out of my warm, cozy bed, when i glimpse these lovely sunrisings, i have to rejoice in being alive and having the eyes to see. my life has been so blessed! here is a short list of things i am so thankful for at this very minute: * my friendships with my mother and my sister * my ever so awesome Honey * things that make me laugh (that's a lot of things! i laugh easily. and i LOVE to laugh!!!) * finding new blog friends * having the time to create and craft * coffee! oh yeah! i guess if i want to keep this short list short, i need to stop SOMEWHERE... here. i'll stop here. there's just so much to be thankful for, big and small. hope you make your list today. and then ENJOY all the blessing of today! DO IT TODAY! coziness-in-the-midst-of-storms-wishes to you today...

a few last wisps...

the bohemian couldn't decide whether this shot was spooky or cozy. she, of course, leans toward cozy... woodstove cozy. yessssssss..... while trying to capture the magic of the bright harvest moonlight peeking through the trees, she caught this... ooooh, what spooky magic was afoot? ghostly moonlight through wicked spellbinder thorns... a chance capture of ghostly moonlight through the cedar tree, whilst looking out of her kitchen window... sadly, no trick-or-treating delightful monsters or ragamuffins came to knock upon her door. but the resident Honey and not-so-bohemian-daughter thoroughly enjoyed what the trick-or-treaters did not. november love to you from bohemia...don't forget to PLAY TODAY!!!

farewell to october...

seen in the pale moonlight at the festival of the harvest: two tiny creatures of the night... munching...munching... what an enjoyable night of fun and frolic it was! unfortunately, our bohemian's camera frustrated her once again and there are no pictures to prove it... the moon rose eerily over the bohemian mountains on the cold, crisp first day of november, when it wasn't quite evening yet... guests had arrived at the bohemian's cottage, for the weekly traditional giant bowl of popcorn and chilled fruit smoothies. happy child laughter, loud adult chatter, romping and wrestling, pillow fighting and sneaky tag games... what a fun and lovely fall afternoon. and yes, the next morning's dawning was still quite eerie! dark clouds and a sinister blue color... oooooh. not yet done with the spookiness of the season... but the bohemian's cottage was quite cozy and warm. and she was snug and happily blogging away... and taking lovely trips to other blogland places, where inspiration abounded and friends were sharing their daily lives. the bohemian wants you all to know how much she enjoys visiting you and thanks you for sharing your lives with her and each other. as her favorite mary englebreit illustration says, so she wishes for all of you: "be warm inside and out". happy november!
