singin' the blues...

if life gives you mud...go clam digging!! yum... on the way to her lake artist friend's house, the bohemian was thrilled to glimpse the magic island that only appears once every now and again... there is was, hovering in the mist... it faded quickly and was gone and the clouds rolled in to obscure the lake and drop silver raindrops upon the bohemian's conveyence and once again she was glad she was not back in the horse and buggy days... as soon as she got home, she turned on every party light in her cottage to combat the wicked blue drizzle spell laid upon her valley... wishing golden beams of joy to slice through the any dark blue clouds obscuring your way today. happy creating and may you have tons of time to play...

and a wee bit of orange...

rising up in the morning sunlight, the bohemian could not believe the racket the children were making!! oh no, not her own... the neighbor's! well, could you call them "neighbors"? they live right above the window of the orange room! it's unnerving to the bohemian to have them swooping down upon her as she picks flowers from her front yard garden! to say nothing of the pooh on the windows below... not her favorite neighbors... no. not. the card created for her stamping exchange group challenge: "unusual openings" here you can see the shiny areas of the embossment (but mr. spellcheck, she LIKES that word!) and this card, created for the challenge: "fibers" (using her favoritest purple/orange fiberness, which is a much yummier purple than the camera would show) and some paste paper playing-aroundness... and oh yes... that wee bit of orange that was promised!! the quote: "We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out." -Ray Bradbury (one of the bohemian's favorite writers!) and from her morning pages book... the art of orange the bohemian truly wishes all a lovely day full of letting the beautiful stuff out, and don't forget to play!!!!

the flight of the bohemian...

but firstly though... here is the page she created for karen's book in carmen's "art saves" round robin... created with acrylic paints, a packing tape transfer of a magazine image, key/heart and button embellishments and a quote from rumi. it turned out darker than she wanted but still. she's happy with it. and loves LOVES the quote... her "ride" awaits... "her" bohemian" mountains... her pilot... her bohemian valley... her bohemian cottage (bottom middle house south of the road)... her nearby bohemian lake... her artist friend's lakeview studio is at the south end of this lovely lake! the bohemian drives around the edge of the lake to get to her friend's house... such a beautiful thursday morning drive... "her" ocean with its wonderful islands and ferryboats... what a lovely flight she had!!! beautiful sunny day, with grand vistas! and then good food and good company! all in honor of being married to her Honey for 30 years... don't forget to play today!!! flights of fancy wishes to you all...

weather forecast: mercurial...in the elemental way, not the ups and downs way...

the above statement is an editorial and IS necessarily the opinion of the author... our bohemian awoke to the sound of the rain pitter-pattering outside her bedroom window. she peered through the window and saw.... a landscape of mercurial silver. silvery crystal waterdrops lay like beads over everything; the leaves, the phone wires, the windowpanes. with a polonged sigh, our bohemian dressed and descended the stairs to find that there was no warm crackly fire in the woodstove. no hot coffee awaiting. no spring day. ."find the silver lining," whispered her window faerie. a much-needed reminder on such a day as this...! but everything was so grey as she drove to the home of her "scrabble/workout friend". grey clouds, grey fog, grey puddles, grey-black pavement glistening with its rain covering... and hours later, more of the same as she drove home again. her beloved mountain huddled behind a veil of mercurial silver and grey-blue. she felt a little blue, herself. but, of course, ART SAVED her! there in her daily pages were reminders... silver mirth!!! what a lovely thought! and yet... then she found a treasure of a lovely memory: this is a page her friend created in her beach round robin book. the background papers were specially made by the friends from pictures taken while at the beach. and the little insert sticking out to the right side was a little project the friend had done while there at the ocean. she had asked everyone to write a little note describing what the ocean meant to them, what they loved about being there. the bohemian had forgotten even writing these! there they were, tucked inside to be read and remembered with a smile... and the bohemian also found other pages she had created that made her smile. here are some to share with you... the bohemian sincerely hopes you are SMILING now! she wishes bright shiny silver linings to ALL your clouds today. prismy, crystally, tender wishes to you all.... don't forget to play!

"Spring is here. Why doesn't my heart go dancinng?" Lorenz Hart

SKY ART! artist: God. you know how the bohemian loves her sky art!!! it was a beautiful windy spring day. for one moment, the rain had ceased and the sun pierced the veil of clouds... glorious! and she smiled as she entered her back door and came into the porch... here were her lovely nuts gathered in autumn and awaiting her notice...wanting to be eaten! walnuts and hazelnuts (her favorite!), fallen from her very own trees in her very own yard... perhaps some nut butter...? easter celebration: the bohemian has a gifted friend who always makes the most beautiful still life art inside their church building. here was her offerings for the easter season: the bohemian's church's easter program was a live "Last supper". it was staged on the basis of the famous painting of the last supper of Jesus and his disciples. the bohemian did not get pictures of the live people as she was singing in the choir at the time. all the disciples were introduced and the congregation shared in communion as "Jesus" and His disciples shared their "first" communion. then the disciples were dismissed one by one and the rest of their story was told...most of them were martyred for their faith in Jesus. it was so moving, so emotion-filled and beautiful! a wonderful program. more of the bohemian's friend's fabulous still-lifes.... notice the banner is hung from an antique trombone... creative and clever! and the bohemian's spring dish towels are out again in her kitchen, proclaiming the season with joyous colors and happy admonitions!!! may your spring be lovely and full of the delightful symbols of the season: blooming flowers, happily buzzing bees, early morning songbirds, frog lullabys at night (my spell check did not like the way i spelled lullabies, suggesting that maybe i meant "wallaby" or "hullabaloo instead?!!). go forth and make hullabaloo (uproar), my friends, as you revel in springtime! and don't forget to PLAY!!
