the further adventures of miss hanna the fairy grandchild...

We last left miss hanna the fairy grandchild wandering the grounds around the bohemian grandmother's cottage. miss hanna was finding all kinds of wondrous things to discover.  in the driveway that led around the cottage, there were rocks of all sizes, shapes, and colors...
and in between the rocks was lovely, lovely, silken dust!
oh joy to one's hands! the soft, cool, wispy stuff! one never could be quite sure that it wasn't fairy dust!!!
it felt so magically ticklish on the legs!!
till the grandmother said: "alright. that's enough...dust off your hands!"
and then the grandmother showed miss hanna the mystery of the hazelnuts that were dropping from the shady tree into the grass beneath...
and little round pumpkins hiding under giant green leaves...
miss hanna thought it was a green ball and tried to pull it off the vine... the grandmother said: "no, no! hanna, no!" but miss hanna has no idea of the smiley jack'o'lantern that the green "ball" will become in another month! oh, won't she be surprised!  (well...that is all of miss hanna's adventure pictures that blogger would let the bohemian grandmother post for today! rats!  but please come back another time so see what further adventures miss hanna the fairy grandchild will have!)     autumn-y wishes to you! and a very merry full moon night to you all...

an adventure of miss hanna, the fairy grandchild...

once upon a time, the fairy grandchild journeyed to her bohemian grandmother's cottage at the foot of a very high and craggy mountain...  it was one of those rare and sunny, hot days in the lateness of summer...
miss hanna, the fairy grandchild roamed around the grounds outside the cozy cottage of the bohemian grandmother...  there were so many wonders to discover!  she found a SILKY, cobalt blue feather that a scolding stellar jay had left behind.
she gazed around her at the sights... roses in bloom, blackberries hanging like grapes from the vines which her fairy grandmother called: "evil spellbinder thorn vines".  her grandmother said: "ouch! ouch!" as she stole purpleblack berries from off the thorny vines for the fairy grandchild to taste. oh the taste! sweet, dark magic melting in her mouth!
she had dressed appropriately  for the day's adventures... stylish plaid shorts...
chic yet comfy sandals with their flirty pink roses...
an o so pink t-shirt with frilly girly sleeves...
so what did the fairy grandchild do next?  well, the  bohemian grandma will continue the tale on the next available sunny summer day!  but in the meantime, sun-warmed wishes to tan your summer skin... and to keep that skin and the soul inside it young: go find a fairy child to play and laugh with... IT'S MAGICAL!!!

B.D.L.M.

This is the bohemian's "blogger-doesn't-love-me" post...  (boo hoo...thinks she'll eat some worms...poor, pitiful her...)so again, she will try to load 1. picture. at. a. time. So as to sneak up on the cursed thing!
update on the fairy grandchild...she's walking and has a little brother on the way!!!  happy, happy fairy grandmother!!!
and this was the 4th picture she loaded. and blogger put it here!!!!  just a  sample of recent card-making...
the bohemian in center
so... this is where blogger decide to put THIS picture... hmmm. anyways. the bohemian's church has been putting on a kids' program every monday in a poor neighborhood about 30 mins away toward the mountains.  they clown and serve lunches and do puppets and skits and crafts and face painting... Of course the bohemian has been having a BLAST!!!************************************************
and so. the bohemian has snuck 4whole pictures onto her blog!! yes, they are quite willy-nilly thanks to blogger, but she will take what she can get!!!  and she is knee-deep into vacation Bible school and will hopefully be able to share with you some of the Bible story sets she has created for the kiddos...   But. for now. this is what the bohemian has been up to...in this summer-that-never-quite-came.  bohemia has rained and sprinkled and sun-baked and chilled then cooked the bohemian!  mostly she has just been rained upon.  the  bohemian is well aware of the awful weather which other parts of the land have been suffering through. so she will try not to be pouty and selfish and spoiled-brattish (mmhmm! she thinks that IS a real word!)!   so she sends you all her best rain-filled wishes from underneath her colorful umbrella! and as soon as she  can remember where she puts those darn rose-colored glasses, she will post again. soon. she hopes. blogger willing...

whisked away...

one day not long ago, the bohemian found herself whisked away by her prince charming,  into the outer edges of bohemia, to a sweet little village very different from her own...

they followed a gravelly path winding down to pass between two sweetly-scented flowering bushes...

whose blushing pink flowers were in the shape of angel's trumpets...

all their belongings for their short stay they trundled along in the little pushcart...

right up to the doorway of this sweet little yurt...

now, an evil curse had been laid over the land. and the rain lashed the tiny yurt and the thunder pounded down upon the canvas roof but they were cozy, warm and dry inside the sweet little round dwelling!
they spent their days roaming the valleys, eating fresh-picked cherries from the farmer's fruit stand, tasting the BBQed street vendor's food at a tiny street faire, eating exquisite molasses cookies fresh-baked by two magic fairies, and finding just the right "something" at a  parking lot sale to benefit children battling cancer.
(WARNING: WHAT COMES NEXT IS NOT FOR THE SNAKE-SQUEAMISH!!)
what they did next was captivating and a tiny bit scary...
they entered the door of the REPTILE ZOO!
there in the steamy hot air were creatures only safely seen behind glass...
and that was part of the creepiness.
to know they would kill you if they could...
fat snake  in a bowl

a handsome prince someone played an evil trick on...(this toad was extremely creepy, more so than many of the snakes...he was huge - bigger than my hand - and slimy-wet-looking)

puff adders have always horrifyingly fascinated the bohemian
okay. enough with the snake pictures.
there were also dragons of all sizes, and the most amazing bugs!  walking sticks and preying mantises and giant hissing cockroaches (which weren't hissing - the bohemian tried! she did! but they were not a bit scared by her!), large fuzzy tarantulas and ancient, wise tortoises.
as they headed back to their cozy, round hut the raging rain began again. and what was there to do but curl up in their warm, dry blankets for a nap, lulled to sleep by the drumming of the rain above their heads.
well. that seems to be all the pictures blogger will upload today....
sorry to leave you with those last images!!
may you be blessed, not cursed, with fair weather and cozy refuge...
liquid sunshine wishes  to you all!

RR altered book...about cats

cats just want to take over the world...(sorry for the glare on the cat's face in the house window).  wish i would have made sure of the fabric artist that created the panel for "cat culture". sorry, again.
love what the artist did with the cat on upper page!  and i've always loved the quote about cats never forgetting that they were once worshiped as gods... explains a lot about their CATtitudes!!! don't you  think? (sorry. again! for the glare on the pyramids...)
the bohemian had a lot of fun creating these pages!  round robin altered books are so creatively inspiring... to be given a theme and basically told..."run with it".  kinda like doing school homework except a heck of a lot more FUN!!!!   hope there is major fun in your life today... don't forget to go out and play! when was the last time you flew a kite?  take the time, it's worth the pleasure and laughter!!
