in this land of not-bohemia, a land that honors the bohemian spirit, a land of intricate wrought-iron...

where even the bugs wear their most gorgeous colors...

and the friendly faces have a slightly exotic flavor...

this land that has been home yet not home for the bohemian for the last two months...
this land has embedded itself deep within her bohemian heart, and shall forever remain,  a land of her dreams.  and land of riotous colors, a thousand shade of greens, and a family so dear to her heart.  and yet, she has missed her sweet fairie grandchildren immensely!  so home she must fly...               home-sweet-home wishes to you and yours today.  don't forget to play!

the weather here in bohemia is mercurial... the bohemian is sure she has mentioned that before. once or twice. per season, even. possibly...

but she never tires of her mountains, at the feet of which she is so thankful to be able to dwell...

and although the wind tried to destroy her camellia bush by blowing half of it over, still it blooms into glorious profusion, to her deep delight...

a day with grammy...

hi there!  remember me? i'm grammy's fairy granddaughter. ( she thinks it's too bad that my wings are invisible, though.)   anyhow....grammy came to see me today...

i was so happy to have her come over to my house!  i tried to show off to her how i could stand on my bed rail and reach something on my window seal (that i wasn't supposed to touch anyways...)

i almost reached it too but my socks slipped and i almost fell down from up there!  i grabbed my fairy pink curtains tight...

grammy! why are you laughing? don't you care that i scared myself and almost might have maybe got hurt?!

i was wearing my "little mismatch" socks... they are cool and soft and so colorful.    but slippery....!

and, oh my gosh! grammy showed me HER socks and guess what? SHE had HER "little mismatch" socks on!!!!  my grammy rocks!!

my brother felt left out, i'm sure. HE doesn't have any cool socks like mine and grammy's...

then i got soooo tired, i passed out with my head on my brother's boppy pillow.

of course, she's now a month old... time flies when you're having grandbabies... this was at the hospital shortly ofter her birth. she was 6 weeks early (5lbs, 10 ozs.). now she's over 6lbs.  *the fairy grandmother's in love again!!

the bohemian helped the drama queen daughter decorate for St. Patty's day... she lives beside a bus stop near a college, so she loves to give the bus riders a smile...

shamrocks, of course! some, the bohemian cut out in shamrock shape. others were cut in hearts and put together in their shamrock shape...

and of course, the penguins, who held the heart between them last month, must share a shamrock this month!

there was a beautiful sign of spring in the drama queen daughter's fairy tree garden... and PURPLE ones beside the trellis!  O!!!  spring is coming! spring is coming!

exchange card group challenge: envelope cards. these cards are long envelopes folded in half to make square cards. she had this funky felt stuff from somewhere... one roll lime, one roll teal...  yummy!   sending wishes for a lovely blooming march and a very green St. Patty's day (so you don't get pinched!)...   MAKE SOME ART!

almost time for tulips!

O! it's a bright shiny sunny day in bohemia!! it's so beautiful today! there was frost this morning, so the whole scene outside her window is sparkling in the sunlight! the bohemian is so thankful  to live in this gorgeous place...

***ART PROJECTS:  she has been working in a friends altered book themed "tulips"...

she's been saving this picture of these two little darling girls in their bright pink dresses with those gorgeous orangey-pink tulips with shockingly yellow centers... PERFECT!
*page 2:

she's been saving this adorable but slightly bemused cherub in denim with her purple tulips... these were so perfect for her friend's tulip book! and so, now the bohemian feels justified over her office-sized file cabinet stuffed to over-flowing with collected images.... her powers of justification are immense!

*page 3:  images of beautiful little girls blissfully enjoying the tulip fields which grow in the nearby valley...

the background on this page, with which the bohemian wasn't entirely happy, was first embossed in clear embossing powder to create a mask, then inked with lime green... came out kinda messy rather than popping the pattern out.  sigh.

ALSO outside her window today, she spied a fuzzy brown squirrel playing in the cedar tree. as she was watching and laughing at his antics, she noticed a shock of cobalt blue on the feathers of a stellar jay among the green boughs of the tree.  and then, just beyond the tree, she caught a glimpse of  the startling white of a pair of trumpeter swans flying over the field below the cottage. and again, she thanked God for letting her live in such a gorgeous place with such beauty and vivid colors surrounding her. she hopes you find gorgeous beauty surrounding you today.  and wishes you the loveliest day, with sunlight sparkling like diamonds in every one of your mudpuddles... don't forget to PLAY!!

she had it...

yeah, she had it. she moped around bohemia for a month...  no, not any of the flu variations that are going around (although she did get one of those). no. she got an artist's block! of all things!!  she tried many times to get here and post another blog post. but every time she put a few pics on the blank screen....  blank brain. nothing. nada. and it's not even like there was nothing happening!!  she ran off to her annual craft retreat weekend (well... 5 days, actually) beside the sea...

and she spent a very long day at the hospital with her royal sister, who was having neck surgery.

and she spent a long day at a recovery center, visiting a friend recovering from a knee replacement and sat in on a business meeting which they held there, bedside...

and then she came home and spent two long days in the hospital awaiting the arrival of the new faerie grandbaby! (she DID arrive! pics soon...)

and all the days in between seem to go by in a blur of tiredness, errands, naps and artist block.  but today. today she finally forced herself to sit still long enough to post a bit. just so you knew she was still around. still blissfully happy in bohemia.  loving her life. playing it to the fullest.

and so, with a whole month gone, behind her, lost in the mental fog somewhere, she wishes you a FANTASTC valentine's day and hopes that you are surrounded by the ones you love. don't forget to tell them how much you love them.  in  a gushy, mushy way... or sedately, if that's what they require. but DO tell them!!
